Sebastian Vettel wins the first Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina
It was billed as a procession; a meaningless final race to the topsy-turvy 2009 F1 season. And in a sense it was. Sebastian Vettel managed to best Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren early on, but that tussle never took off after Hamilton retired with dodgy brakes, leaving Vettel to cruise to victory.
Last week, Porsche unveiled the new 911 GT3 RS for well-heeled drivers who like to test their mettle on the track during the weekend. Now, we get the full-bore race version of the car, the GT3 Cup, to be shown at the Frankfurt auto show next month. The GT3 Cup car is similar to the GT3 RS.
Two Royal College of Art students have designed a Jaguar-inspired sculpture to celebrate the opening of Clerkenwell Design Week in London. Ewan Gallimore and Claire Miller developed their idea alongside Jaguar's Advanced Design team in Whitley, Coventry, by using technologies applied in the creation of Jaguar production and concept cars. The two were the successful team from a selection of nine groups who submitted entries after Jaguar's challenge to the RCA's Vehicle Design and Textile Design departments.
